I hope you all had a  wonderful weekend whether you’re single or taken! My weekend was spent in front of the TV watching the NBA All-Star festivities on Friday and Saturday. Kevin Hart and Anthony Anderson had me cracking up during the Celebrity All-Star game. I really hope Kevin was kidding about retiring. The slam dunk contest was the best I’ve seen in a awhile. Congratulations to Zach LaVine (slam dunk contest) and Stephen Curry (3 point contest)!

The Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary special was really funny. I think they did a wonderful job highlighting the best characters from the show’s history. It was nice to see the entire gang all together celebrating and laughing.

It’s always nice to see things that you wrote years ago because all the emotions and energy come back to your recollection like it was yesterday. This quote is so powerful. Throughout my life, I’ve never been the type of person to wander aimlessly. I always had a plan in place with several backups just in case things went awry. If I could go back in time, I would have lived more in the moment. Everyday you live on this Earth is a gift. I definitely want to make a conscious effort to be both mentally and physically present.

I know I mentioned there would be some new posts to the Must See TV category, but the past 2 weekends I spent hanging out with family. As a result, time got away from me. However, I had a stroke of inspiration after seeing the film Black or White (highly recommend it). So my next post will talk about my experience as an African American woman. The words just flowed out of me tonight and I can’t wait to share it with you all. I absolutely adore being a writer 🙂

This quote was too good not to share! It’s practically one of my life mantras. I pride myself on being independent, but sometimes you can’t make it on your own. Don’t let your ego keep you in a rut. Asking for help takes courage and it can save you from a lot of unnecessary heartache. Your family and friends would rather see you happy, so don’t feel like you’re burdening them. Life troubles aren’t nearly as bad when you have a good support system, so utilize your inner circle 🙂
