mistake

Sometimes the hardest part about making mistakes is forgiving yourself. I have a perfectionist nature and it absolutely kills me to my core when I do something wrong. Instead of obsessing over my mishaps, I try to look at themĀ as lessons that will make me a better and more understanding human being. I love the metaphor in this quote because I have noticed that my vision of the world becomes sharper after each trial or setback I overcome. If you’re struggling with some mistakes you’ve made in the past, don’t let them define you. No one on this earth is perfect. Mistakes have no control or power over you if you don’t repeat them. Live, learn and grow!

simplicity

Since it’s the first day of Spring, I thought it was apropos to do a little “Spring cleaning” both physically and mentally. I definitely have some things I need to let go of and refocus my attention on pursuing everything that gives my life meaning. Life is far too short and I want to make the most of my time here. Happy Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Anger and Happiness

The world would be such a better place if we all lived by this philosophy!

Thankful

After I read this quote on Pinterest, it took a minute for me to process everything that it has to offer. Each bullet is so powerful and can stand on its own. No matter how complicated we tend to make life the bottom line is simple, your PERSPECTIVEĀ makes or breaks you. You decide to make each moment of your life a positive or negative one. If you feel down on your luck or choose to lose all hope thenĀ there is no possibility for things to change for the better. The choice is yours. I choose to conquer negativity by letting it motivate me, not consume me.

How do you deal with negativity and what are you thankful for?

Now this is my kind of to-do list! I wanted to start my week off with some upliftingĀ affirmations and goals. These are really great ways to develop a peaceful and positive mindset. I hope you all have a wonderful and prosperous week šŸ™‚

positivity

Whatever you put your mind to will always find a way to manifest itself in your life. Bad things happen in life, but it’s important not to dwell on them. You catch more flies with honey. Negative energy is just as contagious as positivity. Make the decision to spread happiness and I promise your world will start to change! Have a wonderful weekend šŸ™‚

humility

Many people become so consumed with receiving recognition for theirĀ accomplishments that they loseĀ sight of what’s truly important. We all set goals and strive to be a better person. The problem arises when we become obsessed with winning and being the best at everything. You should always live life to your fullest potential because you owe it to yourself, not because of the award you’ll receive or the public praise. All of the great humanitariansĀ of the world like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela did not set out to become celebrities. They wanted to make the world a better place by helping the needy and fighting for the rights of everyone. Ā If you asked them what their greatest achievements were they wouldn’t say winning an award, being on television, or becoming President, they would say making the world a better place by being a voice for the voiceless.

I implore you to not relish in your successes. Use your abilities to help others make their dreams come true because it is far more rewarding. The world is a big enough for everyone to get a piece of the pie. Don’t feelĀ threatened by the achievements of others. Allow them to motivate you. When you rise to the top, don’t let it go to your head. Be thankful for the progress you’ve made and never forget the ones that helped you along the way.

preparation

Sometimes seeing the glass as half full instead empty is easier said than done. When you’re feeling at your weakest, try to redirect your negative thoughts of doubt and hopelessness into positive ones. After all if you are still breathing then whatever has brought you down in the past didn’t break you. We must never underestimate ourĀ resiliency as human beings. You are much stronger than you give yourself credit. If you’re feeling depressed or jaded with life, give yourself permission to express those feelings. Ā Ignoring those feelings can be detrimental as well because they’ll just keep building and building up until you implode. However, do not let them consume or derail you from picking yourself back up when the time is right. I have learned from personal experience that both pain and pleasure demand to be felt. Unfortunately, you need to experience both to fully appreciate the other. EveryoneĀ have an amazing week šŸ˜‰

know your worth

This quote raises an important distinction between confidence and value. I think valuing yourself is the key to exuding true confidence. Many people who walk around like they own the world are the most insecure. When you truly value yourself, you won’t need the approval of others to legitimize your existence. Always remember you are perfect just the way you are and being original makes you beautiful. Have a wonderful weekend! #TGIF #KnowYourWorth
